2020

The Government of Ukraine was not prepared to withstand the COVID-19. With numerous urgent challenges they missed the major point — medics were not ready to take the risk of being infected and could try to avoid their service. Having no resources to raise their financial motivations, the Government still needed a solution to keep the medical frontline.

UNICEF joined the Ministry of Healthcare to build a national campaign to support medics as heroes on the frontline. Red ribbon tied in a knot became a branded symbol connecting healthcare workers with every single Ukrainian.

UNICEF joined the Ministry of Healthcare to build a national campaign to support medics as heroes on the frontline. Red ribbon tied in a knot became a branded symbol connecting healthcare workers with every single Ukrainian.

In a few days, we covered 100% of adult Ukrainians with communication on TV channels and on other media platforms. Thousands of businesses added ribbon to their logo. Millions of Ukrainians wore symbols of support on their wrists, added them to their avatars and used them as car or home decorations. Campaign knowledge among doctors reached 83%, more than 4 million Ukrainians joined the campaign.
